BRADESTONE has in its parish 513 acres of land, 34 houses, and 160 inhabitants, and is seven miles E. of Norwich. T. G. Tuck, Esq. owns a considerable portion of the land, but R. H. V. Walpole and R. Neville, Esqrs. are lords of the manor. In 1095 the lords of this place assumed the name of De Breideston. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is a rectory consolidated with that of Strumpshaw, and valued in the King's Book at £5 6s. 8d. The tithes are commuted for £150 per annum.
